JOB DESCRIPTION

Bathhouse seeks an attentive, organized, hands-on, detail-oriented Life Guard/Certified Pool Operator to join the Bathhouse Team at our Flatiron, NY, location. Lifeguards are expected to act courteously to everyone and provide great guest service while ensuring that pool operations and chemistry run smoothly and safely.

Must be able to work weekends, some weekdays, and holidays. Experience preferred. This role will be an integral part of the team, responsible for providing high-quality service to Bathhouse guests by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment for guests to relax and appreciate the pools. One of the roles of our attendants is to keep our pool and sauna areas clean and maintained throughout the day and evening.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of all swimmers by preventative measures and minimizing hazardous situations.
  • Enforcement of all pool rules and regulations politely and courteously.
  • Provide quick response to emergency situations in the water/amenity space.
  • Conduct ongoing maintenance: adjust feeders when necessary, check operations of pump and flow meter, vacuum pool, wash down deck and pump room, chek and maintain pool chemistry, clean stainless steel and filters, record pool readings, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable on all aquatic information and programming and be CPO certified or have an understanding on pool chemistry.
  • Display a professional appearance with appropriate dress/uniform.
  • Is timely and punctual when reporting to work.
  • Ensure the amenity area is safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Other duties as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS

  • High school education or comparable work experience
  • Holding a valid CPO (optional)
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Valid Standard First Aid certification
  • Valid Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross
  • Certified Pool Operator certificate
  • Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
  • Able to show initiative and make decisions, must be able to troubleshoot and anticipate problems
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards job and facility
  • Maintain a character of professionalism and confidence, with a tactful ability to communicate with participants.

  • This position required the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Normal work hours: varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Job Type: Full-time. This position is in demand seven days a week, with shifts from 8 am-4 pm and 4 pm-12 am.
  • Pay: $20.00- $26.00 /hour DOE
  • Health Insurance eligible at full-time.
  • Free unlimited admission to Bathhouse with a plus one.
  • 50% off services, products and the restaurant.
