Bass Pro is Hiring a Payroll Coordinator Near Springfield, MO

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Payroll Coordinator is critical in the support of all outfitters at multiple locations including retail, manufacturing, distribution centers, Base Camp locations and other business entities. Coordinators communicate with various team members, business partners, and outfitters through collaborative to ensure payroll is consistently accurate and timely. Coordinators should be passionate about their duties and to the customers they serve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists with collecting, processing, and maintaining payroll data for 35k outfitters.

  • Functions as a contact for all US and Canada outfitters and locations.

  • Audits Time and Attendance system for accuracy and missed punches.

  • Enters payroll items (i.e.-missed time, credit card incentives, refunds, etc.) into the Payroll system for weekly and biweekly processing.

  • Submits garnishments to third party vendor and monitors for timeliness and accuracy of processing.

  • Analyzes system calculations for vacation and sick pay eligibility.

  • Submits Employment Verifications to third party vendor for processing.

  • Creates and initiates integration of payroll files.

  • Audits make-up pay for tipped associates.

  • Processes on-demand checks and/or pay cards, as required.

  • Collaborates with third-party vendors, as required.

  • Answers employee questions related to payroll, diffuses concerns, and resolve issues.

  • Manages moderately complex payroll issues and problems.

  • Participates in pre-payroll, payroll, and post-payroll audits.

  • Communicates through a ticketing system with Human Resource partners and outfitters.

  • Shares team culture through open dialogue and provides support, as needed.

  • Possesses foundational working knowledge of payroll.

  • Possesses positive customer service skills that consistently enhance the customer experience.

  • Executes responsibilities under close supervision, following established policies and procedures.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Preferred Degree: Associate Degree in Business/Finance or Accounting

  • Experience: One to two years of experience in payroll or related field. One to two years of experience with Kronos or similar timekeeping applications.

  • Must have knowledge of and be comfortable working in a Workday Payroll or similar payroll system.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Possesses foundational working knowledge of payroll.

  • Possesses positive customer service skills that consistently enhance the customer experience.

  • Knowledge of Canada payroll, wage, and labor laws.

  • Knowledge of Payroll tax regulations.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly performs computer work (sitting and standing positions).

  • Occasionally walks and stands.

  • Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
