Bass Pro is Hiring an Inventory Specialist I Near Springfield, MO

POSITION SUMMARY: The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the inventory levels for all channels of distribution within Bass Pro Shops. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Executes all daily aspects of domestic and import replenishment including flow of products from overseas through import and warehouse facilities. Develops and executes strategies as necessary for various events. Manages inventory levels at both store and DC while maintaining store in stocks goals and customer fill rate goals. Interacts daily with buyers on new item purchases, identifying seasonality of goods, and inventory flow regarding promotional activity. Performs daily tasks that include Purchase Order system updates and accuracy including manual purchase order entry, purchase order adjustments, arrival date accuracy and general overall purchase order maintenance. Analyzes and reviews daily/weekly/monthly/yearly reports and screens to identify inventory imbalances while controlling inventory at store and warehouse level and resolving in stock issues. Monitors, manages and adjusts on order quantities to reflect direct business sales and retail sales for core business and advertised promotions. Performs routine and non-routine replenishment tasks. ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Four year degree and/or 0 to 2 years’ experience with purchasing or inventory control highly preferred Must have strong overall computer skills with an emphasis in MS Excel (experience with AS/400 and JDA supply chain software a plus) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY Ability to determine tasks, prioritize multiple demands and ensure the demands are executed in a timely manner Ability to communicate with various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner Ability to utilize discretion and independent judgment in decision making in order to achieve departmental goals Understand relationship between actions and their impact to the business while having a sense of urgency Self motivated while still being a contributor in a multiple team environment Ability to be proactive and have strong perseverance Strong aptitude or working with numbers Knowledge of purchasing principles Knowledge of importing products Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and remain detailed oriented TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: N/A PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly performs computer work and sits. Occasionally walks and stands. Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs. INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
