Where the chemistry happens…

We are seeking a professional like you to join our Performance Chemical Division supporting our Anti Oxidants Operations team at the McIntosh, Alabama site. In this role, you will ensure the optimization of plant processes within the assigned area. This includes improving process operating methods and process parameters, optimizing energy consumption, and improving chemical yield. The role will include efforts to facilitate and contribute to systematic reductions in unplanned production losses within the production processes. In this role, you will be the process expert for the assigned area and carry the responsibility for documenting and implementing operational best practices as well as technical training for the operations staff. As with all roles, you will further the development and improvement of safety aspects of the unit.

As a Senior Production Engineer, you create chemistry by...

• Providing daily assistance as needed to operations and maintenance around troubleshooting, determining root cause, and resolution of problems to meet the sites production commitments. You will also be responsible for production lines improving yield, efficiency, etc. as needed. 
• Serving as a role model, you will champion risk reduction activities for all plant employees by setting a Zero Incident mindset, as well as perform daily observations on safe work practices, compliance to basic rules, and set high standards for housekeeping. 
• Iidentifying opportunities for debottlenecking, optimization efforts, cost reduction, and quality improvement, as well as assist with asset reliability planning. 
• Assisting or leading the coordination, planning and execution of shutdown or turnaround work including maintenance and capital activities. You will also participate in production planning and scheduling while working with maintenance gatekeeper to set priorities for equipment repairs.
• Being responsible for critical PSM/RMP/RCMS elements and processes such as Management of Change (MOC), PSSR’s, Interlock and Bypass Procedures, Operational Procedures and Employee Participation. Changes needing a MOC will ensure risk assessments are thoroughly done so changes do not jeopardize safety of plant. 
• Assisting with learning and development of operators, supervisors and engineers by ensuring clear understanding of operating procedures, process changes, etc 

If you have...

• Earned a Bachelor´s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 5 years of demonstrated experience in chemical manufacturing
• Experience with processing equipment, control systems and thorough knowledge of batch chemical processes
• Working knowledge of DCS systems and process interface systems
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
