Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Senior Database Management Specialist join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Management Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in database management, with specific expertise in Qlik. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of our databases, as well as supporting data integration and business intelligence initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain complex databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Perform database tuning and optimization.
  • Monitor database performance and implement changes as necessary to improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain Qlik applications, dashboards, and reports to support business intelligence needs.
  • Integrate Qlik solutions with various data sources.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Qlik applications.
  • Design and manage ETL processes to integrate data from various sources.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across integrated systems.
  • Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with data analysts, developers, and other IT professionals to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Generate reports on database performance, usage, and security.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in database management.
Required Skills
  • Proven experience with Qlik, including QlikView and Qlik Sense.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, architectures, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Experience with ETL processes and data integration.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with cloud databases and services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Certification in Qlik or database management.
  • Experience with other business intelligence tools.
Security Clearance
  • Eligible to obtain a security Clearance.
