Job Description: The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving the sales volume and gross margin goals of the folder gluer and material handling businesses; optimizing the competitive position of the product lines; and establishing a strong Alliance presence in the regional marketplace. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Job Results: Achieve sales volume, revenue, and gross margin targets for both J&L and TEI product lines. Develop and gain approval for strategic and tactical sales plans to achieve business growth objectives. Recommend pricing strategies for profitability and competitive positioning. Recommend and participate in development of promotional programs to support long-term business objectives and strategic position. Embrace a value-added business philosophy throughout the sales region. Principal Activities and Duties: Manage and optimize the interface between Alliance and the regional customer base. Manage a regional database, in a form consistent with company-wide standard format and content, that provides hard data on key territory contacts, pertinent installed equipment base, recent placements, and competitive wins and losses. Maintain the highest ethical standards and comply with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and international laws and regulations bearing on the North American geography. Functional responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President, Sales & Marketing Regional Customer Relations, Corporate relationships as required. Strategic and Tactical Sales Plans Recommend Pricing and Competitive Positioning Regional Reporting and Forecasts. Ensure that Customer is Satisfied at conclusion of project. Provide necessary details of interfacing equipment to ensure that the company provides the proper equipment for the application. MBA is a plus. JOB EXPERIENCE Progressively responsible positions in sales, corporate account experience preferred. Understands the financial aspects of the business. High energy level and proven ability to prioritize and manage a complex schedule. Must be comfortable with weekly regional travel. Experienced with high-level customer relations. Willingness to work all levels of relationships as required. Must be able to work in a continuously changing environment of rapid business growth. Must work effectively with customers at all levels and other Alliance functional management, manufacturing and assembly personnel, customer service and training representatives, and other equipment suppliers. Must be able to work closely and effectively with each member of the senior management team, because of the extreme mutual interdependency within the group. Physical Requirements To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, an individual must be willing and able to Travel as needed. Sit at a desk or computer for extended periods of time. Move about the office and factory with occasional lift, pull/push and carry up to 25 pounds. Dial, hear and respond to telephone calls and inquiries. Communicate effectively (visually and verbally) with internal and external contacts. Meet requirements of daily attendance on job for a full, continuous work schedule.
