Who we need:

Barkan is seeking a qualified, motivated, and experienced Assistant Property Manager to assist the Property Manager in the day-today management operations of an affordable multi-family property. 

What you’ll do:

• Collection, posting, and deposit of rents and other income in a timely manner.
• Tracking and carrying out rent collections in accordance with collection policies, preparing and sending delinquency notices, Notices to Quit and delivery and communication with legal.
• Processing wait list applications and prepare lease agreements for move-ins
• Update waitlist annually
• Work in conjunction with compliance to collect recertification related documents, uploading to Share Point, obtaining resident signatures, closing out signed certifications in Yardi, and organizing and maintaining files
• Complete and remain current with knowledge of Rent Café and assist resident in utilizing the portal.
• Processing invoices in Payscan
• Processing security deposit refunds/forfeits and security deposit interests
• Assist in preparing Replacement Reserve requests and Special Claims

What we’re looking for:

• Prior experience in the affordable housing field is a must. Yardi/RealPage/OneSite property management software experience is a plus. 
• Experience working with HUD’s Project Base Section 8 (PBS8) and/or Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)
• Must be organized, detail oriented, able to perform and prioritize multiple projects in a busy office.
