Job Summary Barings’ Investment Grade Corporate team is seeking an investment professional with five to seven years of work experience for a senior credit analyst position. The candidate selected will join an eleven-person analyst team in Charlotte, NC and will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities for the Investment Grade Corporates team, which manages assets in excess of $56 billion. The Associate Director level candidate will have the opportunity for lead coverage on specific sectors (or sub-sectors). Primary Responsibilities Provide analysis of investment grade corporate credits within the Utilities sector Financial analysis and modeling Evaluate companies and the risks related to investing in debt securities across the capital structure Individual security analysis, including capital structure and indenture analysis, cash flow and liquidity analysis and total return and relative value assessment Meet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilize other information sources to become an expert in assigned coverage Produce clear and concise research reports based on independent observation and analysis Produce quarterly industry reviews and communicate recommendations to portfolio management Collaborate with other Barings’ investment teams optimizing efficiencies and framing relative value within sectors Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives Qualifications Five to seven years of credit analyst experience—either investment grade or high yield/bank debt CFA and/or MBA preferred Client presentation experience preferred Excellent writing and communications skills Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced, transaction oriented team Self-starter, must be organized and able to work independently Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities Ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, Bloomberg, etc Some travel required #LI-JS1 Barings is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer; Minority/Female/Age/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Individual with Disability/Protected Veteran.
