Job Purpose: The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans for US Condiments in order to meet annual sales, market share and profit goals. This individual maximizes brand positioning, equity and financial well-being for US Condiments. Responsible for formulating marketing plans, overseeing budgets, and devising both long and short-term strategies. The Marketing Manager also spearheads efforts in packaging, advertising, and consumer promotions programs with the goal of achieving annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define and propose the marketing plan for the brand/geographical area of responsibility focused on objective key initiatives in terms of communication, and consumer promotion activities.
  • Lead the development of launch plans for new products which include integrated marketing programs, pricing, and media.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, collaborating with colleagues from sales, operations, research & development, and quality to ensure seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with Market Research to maintain vigilant market monitoring, acquiring crucial data and insights to formulate marketing plans that align with supply and demand trends, brand awareness, and customer needs.
  • Build and execute the local P&L for assigned business.
  • Manage annual budgets.
  • Manage the effectiveness of outside marketing agencies assigned to the business.
  • Manage, develop, and implement marketing activities to maximize results of an assigned product line within guidelines.
  • Forge and uphold resilient, collaborative partnerships with global counterparts.
  • Adapt global advertisements to local requirements in support of the brand.
  • Utilize business analytics (share, volume and revenue drivers, competition) to drive business objectives.
  • Work with Sales and Trade Marketing to ensure volume objectives are achieved through current and new customers.
  • Support Sales/Category Management with category and consumer data.
  • Plan, develop and execute consumer promotions as part of integrated programs for the brands.
  • Manage other external business partner relationships.
  • Support sales team initiatives with marketing plans and initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes and developments (tools, tactics etc.).
  • Analyze program performance and effectiveness, develop program wrap-up reports on all marketing initiatives.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and commitment.

Additional Information:

  • BS in Business or Marketing; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of Brand Management experience in a CPG environment; food industry preferred.
  • Solid familiarity with marketing management, market research methodology and analytical tools for sales and marketing databases (Nielsen, IRI, etc).
  • Exceptional presentation and communication aptitude, enabling impactful influence on internal stakeholders (senior management and cross-functional teams) as well as external entities such as distributors, customers, and consumers.
  • Ability to execute marketing initiatives for the brand and assigned business.
  • Hands-on marketing experience within the consumer products marketplace.
  • Knowledge of consumer demographics, consumer purchase decision tree, consumer purchasing habits, segmentation, current trends and need gaps.
  • Effective project management skills, financial acumen, and analytical ability.
  • Fundamental understanding of other functions that impact the business P&L (sales, trade, category, etc...).
  • Understanding of U.S. retail market place (grocery, e-commerce, etc...).
  • Experience in advertising, consumer promotion, and media management.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity and work ethic.
  • Proven success working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 15-20% domestically and potentially internationally.
