Barfield, Inc. is Hiring a Lead Assembler Near Miami, FL

Barfield is an FAA and EASA Certified Repair Station offering maintenance services to major passengers, cargo and regional airlines in the Americas. Founded in 1945, Barfield has six facilities located near airports in Miami (MIA), Phoenix (PHX), Louisville (SDF), Atlanta (ATL), Doral 1 (MIA) and Doral 2 (MIA), to satisfy the needs of customers operating commercial or regional aircraft in North, Central and South America. Barfield is a subsidiary of the Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), a major MRO provider.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Assembler to join our team of experts in the assembly and testing of Ground Support Test Equipment used in the aerospace and defense industry. As the Lead Assembler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a team of assemblers in the construction and assembly of GSTE.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Perform assembly, installation, and testing of components and systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any assembly or testing issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment assembly and testing processes.
  • Train and mentor junior assemblers.
  • Contribute to process optimization and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Understand, write, and read English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Advance handling of hand tools and soldering tools

Leadership Skills

  • Previous experience as a Lead
  • Able to work with no supervision.
  • Provide limited supervision to other employees.
  • Motivate and direct employees.
  • Coaching and training skills
