Position Summary

The Senior Design Test Engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team to maintain, improve, and design test solutions working independently with direction from manager.

This position reports to Test Engineering Manager

According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:

  • Exempt, based on the Professional Exemption

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborates with the design and product engineering teams to formulate test strategies for analog, digital, and mixed-signal products on ATE.
  • Identifies and documents test system (ATE) requirements.
  • Design, implement and debug automated test programs and hardware setups using industry-standard test equipment.
  • Debug and validation of analog, digital, and mixed-signal products on ATE.
  • Stays current in best practices and investigates new methods, products, and test systems.
  • Providing work direction to Technicians and Associate Design Engineers. 
  • Working independently to scope and plan project efforts. 
  • Resolving basic project issues and advanced technical issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other similar field of study.

Preferred

  • 5 years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with utilizing National Instruments PXI based hardware and software (LabView, TestStand) systems for tester development.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of electronics design.
  • Strong understanding of programming concepts and technologies.
  • Good comprehension of mechanical and optical principles.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
