Summary: The Equipment Finance Small Ticket Credit Analyst processes and underwrites small-ticket commercial lease applications in a fast paced and high-volume sales environment, while helping to manage the quality of the lease portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Processes credit applications and underwrites credit for commercial lease applications according to published Policy and Product/Underwriting standards in a timely and accurate manner.
• Makes conforming credit decisions, evaluating risk based on credit applications, business, and personal credit reports, public records and borrowing references.
• Verifies existing customer exposure.
• Reviews and approves vendors supplying equipment to be leased or financed.
• Accurately executes credit decisions in the system.
• Determines non-standard documentation requirements with prior approval from the Bank’s Legal Department.
• Meets or exceeds credit decision turnaround time standards.
• Initiates verbal and written communication within the Equipment Finance Small Ticket Leasing Department, vendors and originators
• Prepares and presents credit approval summaries to President or other designated supervisors within the Bank, and external origination partners.
• Ensures commercial lease transactions are underwritten according to the Bank’s Investment & Business Loan Policy, published Product Sheets and Product Notes, and published Underwriting Standards, as applicable.
• Complies with credit audit procedural requirements
• Utilizes strong time management skills to work in fast-paced environment
• Helps maintain the Division’s credit, documentation and funding policies

Experience and Skills:

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university preferably in a business-related discipline or equivalent work experience.

• At least 2 years credit underwriting experience. Must have a strong understanding and knowledge of lease financing, small-ticket commercial equipment finance credit underwriting and lease documentation.

• Must be able to balance maintaining credit quality with reasonable exceptions in a sales-oriented environment.

Interpersonal Skills

• Motivated self-starter who can use discretion and independent judgment in making decisions for Equipment Finance.

• Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects.
