Bangor Region YMCA is Hiring a Member Experience Associate Near Bangor, ME

Fun ~ Energetic ~ Friendly ~ Outgoing. -

If you possess these qualities, we want to talk to you about joining our customer service team. Our welcome center is the hub and heart of our Y. The right person for this job will be a great multi-tasker, good with computers, customer service oriented and have the ability to remain calm and think critically at all times. Must be able to work nights and weekends if needed. The position is a full- time entry level position with great benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
  • Helps connect members to all areas of the Y that will help them reach their goals.
  • Stays up to date on all programs offered and accurately promotes all membership programs to current and potential members.
  • Conduct interviews and/or cause driven tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
  • Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
  • Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or un-resolved issues.
  • Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
  • Monitors the locker rooms as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
  • Good knowledge of computers.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
