What You'll Do

As a Data Scientist, you’ll apply current machine learning and AI algorithms to derive data insights and deliver intelligent services. This involves gaining a deeper understanding of relevant customer needs and business domains, exploring and improving available data, selecting appropriate approaches, and constantly improving models.

  • Train and tune machine learning models
  • Explore data and conduct feature engineering
  • Apply natural language processing to understand text
  • Build algorithms with LLMs
  • Collaborate with data engineers, AI software engineers, data analysts, and stakeholders
  • Research emerging techniques by understanding academic papers and new technical tools, and by conducting labs, prototypes, and explorations
  • Monitor and contribute to the optimization of production models

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • 1 years of professional experience as a data scientist, typically coding in Python with relevant libraries
  • Demonstrated ability to propose and implement ML algorithms, shape data into useful input features, and choose and optimize appropriate model performance metrics
  • Proficiency with NLP, text processing, LLMs / generative models
  • Mathematical thinking foundation and orientation
  • Skill working with data sources of various types using tools such as SQL, pandas, Spark
  • Understanding of core machine learning and deep learning techniques
  • Ability to work well independently and with colleagues
  • Skill collaborating using cloud-based tooling, git, notebook systems, and ML workflows

A strong contender will also demonstrate abilities to:

  • Understand each problem, available data, and potential methods
  • Monitor, learn, and apply emerging techniques
  • Write high quality deployable code
  • Wisely select approaches and evaluation methods
  • Have productive interactions that lift the team and stakeholders

Beyond the technical skills, we’re looking for individuals who are:

  • Clear communicators (verbal and written)
  • Analytical and perceptive of patterns
  • Strong in understanding underlying math and algorithms
  • Creative in finding relevant and novel approaches
  • Productive in a dynamic setting

If you love to learn, you’ll be in good company. You’ll likely have an advanced degree in a quantitative field, or a related Bachelor’s and additional experience working with data.
