The Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) is responsible and accountable for health center clinical operations, and programs, working collaboratively as a part of the center leadership triad with the Center Medical Director and Health Center Administrator to provide safe, high-quality, effective, and efficient medical care. The CNM is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient care for their patient population through specialty and primary care home models effectively and efficiently. Utilizing reporting tools and tracking as well as observation, the CNM monitors patient volumes, quality of care, and staff performance to identify areas for improvement and enact changes to achieve that improvement as appropriate. Being the functional authority for nursing and medical assistant duties, monitoring their practice, and ensuring personnel are appropriately trained and qualified for their duties and that they are performing their care by standards and policies for their profession and the organization. As a clinical nurse, the CNM can perform the duties of the Charge and Clinical Care nurses in case staffing needs warrant.
