POSITION:

We are currently seeking a full-time Director of Organizational Development who will join our team as a dedicated organization support and human resource professional. The Director of Organizational Development is responsible for managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs in functional areas of Human Resources including recruiting, employment, personnel records, benefits administration, and organizational culture that supports Balance Treatment Center’s mission, vision and goals. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the well-being of clients and the integrity of the program
  • Support staff in ensuring a consumer and client-centered approach to services
  • Directs staff development for all levels of staff within the organization through the acquisition of knowledge, skills attitudes, abilities, and competencies which result in improved job performance
  • Responsible for management of recruiting, screening, interviewing, completing paperwork and background checks
  • Responsible for the compliance of end-to-end onboarding, administration, orientation and exit processes, ensuring a thorough and informed experience for new hires and departing employees
  • Assists and supports directors and supervisors in the employment process
  • Represents organization at various community events as needed (i.e. job fairs, etc.)
  • Plans and implements staff development programs such as mentoring, retention, employee recognition and career development
  • Designs and administers performance appraisal systems
  • Develops and maintains employee and other HR records and reports, ensuring compliance
  • Develop and conduct annual employee satisfaction surveys and subsequent follow up addressing staff concerns, burn out, what’s working/what’s not working, etc.
  • Develop and conduct non-clinical management specific trainings
  • Supervises and trains other Human Resources staff
  • Partner with Insperity or PEO to communicate benefit information to employees
  • Partner with Insperity or PEO on all HR related needs and concerns
  • Assists in the organization’s strategic and business planning to determine the major HR needs, strategies, and philosophies
  • Administers the unemployment paperwork
  • Attends unemployment hearings and coordinates necessary information as needed
  • Conducts HR related investigations as needed
  • Provides input into the formulation and modification of non-clinical policies and procedures
  • Maintains and writes job descriptions
  • Monitors and coordinates methods of employee performance appraisals to enhance effectiveness, uniformity, and timeliness
  • Knowledge and use of technology
  • Provide support in the planning and organization of company sponsored activities
  • Will need to be available during any disasters, per disaster plan
  • Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of clients and of proprietary information. Maintain clear understanding of HIPAA rules and ensure compliance throughout the department
  • Attend and complete all in-service training and educational workshops.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain knowledge of and act in accordance with Balance Treatment Center mission and philosophy.
  • Maintain knowledge of and act in accordance with current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues.
  • Demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak, read, hear, and understand technical written material
  • Lifting may be required; may exceed 25 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, lift and carry
  • Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties
  • Able to sit at desk, use keyboard, write and physically perform other job duties
  • Able to move about the facility

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field. Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of five years experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience

  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
  • Proven ability to work with and motivate staff
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding clients, staff and other related information
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the organization
  • Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to read financial statements and understand basic accounting.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (esp. Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Teams etc.)
  • Must be customer-service driven.
  • Specific qualifications may vary based on assignment.
