    COORDINATOR I - MIGRANT EDUCATION
    2022-2023 School YearQUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to make accurate computations and prepare statistical documentation
    • Ability to speak, read and write Spanish fluently
    • Knowledge and understanding of state and federal laws related to migrant education programs
    REPORTS TO: Administrator as assigned
    SUPERVISES: Staff as assigned
    FUNCTION: To assist in providing effective services to migrant students by coordinating and monitoring District migrant education programs
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Plans, coordinates and implements migrant education programs; provides assistance and training in program procedures to district staff; organizes and conducts meetings and workshops as required
    • Maintains current knowledge of laws and regulations related to migrant education; monitors district migrant education programs for compliance
    • Maintains files and prepares required reports and budgets
    • Develops and implements migrant program-related parent education activities; facilitates regional advisory committee activities; informs parents about district service agreement and other migrant program compliance requirements as directed
    • Coordinates supplemental instructional activities of migrant programs by providing training and assistance to migrant education staff and serving as information resource to schools on specific curricular areas as assigned
    • Communicates with school principals and migrant education staff to share variety of migrant program information including but not limited to meeting schedules, program deadlines and purchasing information
    • Supervises staff as assigned
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    SALARY: $136,413 - $165,152 annually, 223 days (max. salary includes longevity & educational stipends)
    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District’s “Improvement of Professional Services” handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable.
    MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • California Administrative Services Credential
    • Valid California Teaching Credential
    • California Bilingual, Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) or Bilingual Certificate of Competence (BCC)

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
