    • Valid Calfornia credential authorizing service in area of assignment
    • Five years of successful classroom teaching experience
    • Ability to work effectively with staff and students
    • Experience in working with small groups of children who are underperforming in reading and/or math
    • Specialized training in reading/language arts, math or English language development
    REPORTS TO: Principal
    JOB GOAL: To provide training for teachers in reading and/or math methodology and strategies; may assist teachers in literacy and early intervention strategies; to provide training and support for teachers in reading and/or math instructional strategies
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Works with teachers to help analyze and improve instructional practices (i.e., coaching cycle)
    • Provides feedback and professional development for teachers on instructional strategies and classroom practices aligned to research and standards-based instruction
    • Conducts demonstration lessons and assists with curriculum to ensure that all students have access to content standards
    • Supports ongoing formative assessment
    • Attends and provides support during grade level/department team meetings to assist teachers in utilizing data to align instruction to content standards and research
    • Collaborates with teachers and administration to integrate culturally responsive strategies and methodologies into classroom practice
    • Assists teachers in planning appropriate intervention and differentiation strategies for all students, including English Language learners, students with disabilities, and all students with diverse needs
    • Meets regularly with site administrators, teachers, and district instructional support staff to further communication and strengthen instructional support to school staff
    • Supports the effective implementation of District initiatives
    • Assists in developing classroom management strategies
    • personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability
    • Performs other related duties as assigned
    SALARY: Salary and work year to be according to current schedule; teacher salary schedule,
    plus $5,700 stipend
    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District’s “Improvement of
    Professional Services” handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with
    collective bargaining agreements when applicable

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
