Hardscape Foreman Job Summary:
The Hardscape Foreman will lead a three-person crew installing patios, retaining walls, fire pits, steps and free-standing walls.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Ability to direct crew to install hardscapes safely, on schedule, and to specifications.
· Trains crew members to properly install hardscape materials.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Uses a variety of tools such as shovels, rakes, tape measure, level and laser level.
· Operates power equipment such as sod stripper, concrete saw, bed edger, compactor, dingo and a variety of other power hand tools.
· Installs and maintains specialty features such as paver patios and retaining walls.
· Educates and consults with clients regarding paver and block care, and works with project manager to figure out the costs of change orders or additional services.
· Reads plans to execute the installation of landscape designs.
· Must have a positive, teamwork-focused attitude and uphold professional standards while on the jobsite.
· Performs other related duties as assigned, including planting, edging installation, sodding and other landscape related duties.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal communication skills.
· Good understanding of hardscaping and landscaping practices and procedures.
· Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly.
· Ability to operate various types of landscaping power equipment and hand tools.
Education and Experience:
· On-the-job training offered.
· Prefer 2 years of hardscape installation experience but will train the right person.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and pulling.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
· Must be physically able to operate heavy equipment and power tools.
· Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
