· Financial Interview for Medicaid application process

· Processing of Medicaid Applications, Conversions, and Recertifications

· Educate residents and families about income payments/NAMI promptly

· Discuss with Private Pay residents their financial options and work on a payment plan as soon as possible

· Strong familiarity with all aspects of current NYS Medicaid regulations, particularly NYC DSS

· Attend weekly Utilization Review meetings to identify potential Medicaid application recipients

· Attend Quarterly Aging meetings

· Redirecting of income (NAMI) and monitoring that all necessary forms are completed and submitted to the Business Office

· Having resident/family/POA sign authorization and order all documents related to the Medicaid application

· Filing Medicaid application/conversion through the MEDS system

· Meeting with resident and or representative and analysis of all financial documents necessary to process the application

· Able to work closely with the admissions department to ensure that the Social Security liaison is updated on all potential new residents and phone interviews are completed monthly with the Social Security representative

· Proficiency in Nursing Facility Programs, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

· Interaction with outside agencies and law firms. Representation at fair hearing and guardianship proceedings if necessary. Completion of attorney referrals as needed

· Ability to develop relationships with outside financial and other institutions to obtain needed documentation

· Candidate should be proactive, a creative thinker, and be able to multi-task
