Qualified candidate is responsible for all aspects of the container planting process, which includes but not limited to the following assure quality and timely planting of bareroot, divisions, rooted cuttings, plugs, and upshift material throughout the growing season.

• Monitor workplace activity and process to always assure maximum productivity.
• Plan appropriately with vendors/other internal ship sites/subordinates on supplies and plant material needed and coordinates deliveries.
• Manages soil ordering and ensures the correct mix is being used for the proper plants.
• Work closely with irrigation department and other production Forepersons on anticipated ground prep and frequent communication of product being planted and at what location.
• Evaluate work performance of subordinates, monitor attendance, review timecards, and act regarding promotion, discipline, and/or other personnel issues.
• Works with the Department Head on sequencing/prioritizing workload.
• Plans, organizes, and maintains planting schedule reporting using Access and Microsoft Excel.
• Works with mechanics on troubleshooting mechanical problems when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
• Able to operate machinery/equipment required for the job. (Tractors, conveyors, and loaders).
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft excel required.
• Familiarity with Access helpful.
• Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Willingness to work weekends/extended hours as needed.
• Learn and execute company policies/procedures/rules as applicable.
• Must take and pass employer paid pre-employment drug test and background check.
