BAE INDUSTRIES, INC. is Hiring a Program Manager Near Warren, MI

SUMMARY

Manages program timeline by directing, coordinating, and exercising functional authority for all functions within the program as well as interfacing and coordinating activities within the organization including but not limited to sales, engineering, manufacturing, operations, design, finance and quality by performing the following duties personally or through department supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop, maintain and manage new program timing.
  • Interface with all staff to ensure milestones are met on time and at budget.
  • Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, review of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Directs integration of technical activities and products.
  • Primary technical interface with customer for all new program launch issues.
  • Develop and conduct regular launch review meetings, both internal and external, to ensure launch meets customer expectations.
  • Develop, implement and manage new launch budget tracking as well as reporting budget status to accounting at frequent intervals.
  • Travel to support domestic and international customers.
  • Follow current plant projects
  • Support the stamping plant with documentation for tooling/floor as needed
  • Work with the various plant groups to ensure all aspects of projects get completed on time.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or five years automotive design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Working knowledge of automotive design or related industry specifications. Strong communication and organizational skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to apply basic geometrical concepts and operations to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

QUALITY

This includes: initiation and verification of corrective action, control of further processing including stopping production and reporting quality concerns to any level of management.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

While performing the essential functions of the job, action must be taken to maintain, conform and improve the company’s Environmental Management System. Action should be initiated to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity by reporting problems and concerns directly to management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
