Backhaul Direct is hiring an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor to lead our team of full-cycle Accounting Specialists. The Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor reports directly to our Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the AR, AP and Billing functions and duties to ensure the department completes tasks timely, accurately, and efficiently. What will you do as the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor?

Manage and record day to day financial transactions for Backhaul Direct's customers
Administer and oversee all accounts receivable, accounts payable and billing functions are being performed in accordance with company policies, procedures and GAAP
Assign and audit the work of the team to develop, implement and/or maintain one or a combination of generally accepted accounting systems
Handle and/or assist in process improvements involving the Billing team and invoice processing when needed
Build relationships with key customers to ensure Backhaul Direct is paid timely and resolve any concerns or delays
Review payments received for application to correct invoices and review invoices prior to distribution as needed
Support monthly accounting close cycles and ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are met; including real-time analysis and review, as well as supporting close and financial reporting reviews following close
Ensure backup processes are in place for daily responsibilities and tasks
Manage and develop the accounting team; ensure efficient communication, establish a genuine team spirit, and promote the company's values
Ensure all customer supporting documents are maintained and up to date
Provide leadership and assist in the development and implementation of new systems, special projects/initiative and processes
Display top-notch customer service skills when dealing with external customers alongside internal team members
Work on special accounting projects and escalated receivables as needed
Resolving complex and outstanding receivable issues
Provide guidance and training to team of Accounting Specialists
Work closely with CFO to ensure all needs are being met in a timely manner

What are the qualifications of the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor?

Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance required
3 to 5 years of managerial accounting in accounts receivable and accounts payable experience required
Proven customer service and/or accounting-specific experience
Experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred
Experience within the transportation and logistics industry a plus
Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis in Excel
Self-motivated; deadline oriented with strong attention to detail required
Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports required
Possess strong work ethic and desire for continuous improvement
Strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion
Proven ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment required
