b19 is working with an established power delivery company to find a Substation Designer that comes from an electric utility background

Basic Qualifications:

• 4 years utility substation physical design experience (15kV through to 500kV)
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with project engineers, designers and client representatives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel & Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-10 years physical substation design experience
• AutoCAD, MicroStation, or SDS proficiency
• Detailed design of new substation layouts using electrical schematics, bill of materials and equipment specifications.
• Ability to create & modify engineer-provided markups to high standards of detail
• Substation lightning stroke shielding plan and grounding plan experience
• Ability to coordinate and interact with P&C and civil teams
• Ability to lead a large portion or the entirety of a substation design project.
