Summary

This management role oversees all aspects of assigned projects from commencement to completion while always working to exceed customer expectations. Responsibilities include initiation, planning, execution, and monitoring of projects while being committed to safety, quality, punctuality, and staying within budget. Daily activities include maintaining the scope of work, developing schedules, time management, mitigating risk, and guiding and reporting progress. Candidate must take initiative to maintain business partnerships, work closely with vendors, control quality, and schedule/attend all necessary meetings to achieve project goals. This position requires independent action, managing multiple priorities, and the ability to make decisions and take responsibility for them. Must be able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions and come up with practical ideas for dealing with them.

• Read and fully understand all contract language, and implement it into project management practices
• Responsible for monitoring, building, and maintaining the project schedule through Microsoft Project and/or Primavera 6 (P6)
• Responsible for notifying the customer and /or general contractor of any delays or scope changes within the contracted timeline
• Monitor, forecast, and manage all job costs
• Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors, and summarizes progress of projects
• Working knowledge of RG QA Program and Safety Plan
• Required to use discretion and independent judgment as needed
• Oversee, support, and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and others involved in projects
• Serves as the primary contact for any questions regarding the project
• Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of projects and communicates changes to project team members to ensure proper executions and escalations
• Track and report project hours and expenses as well as draft and manage budgets
• Relies on an extensive understanding of project scope concepts, practices, and procedures
• Manage and obtain overall project approvals
• Directs the overall strategic direction of projects
• Monitors project progress and schedule requirements and determines actions needed to ensure completion
• Understand the business needs, processes, programs, systems, and concepts to develop clear, thorough project plans
• Manage customer-initiated change requests and enhance project design and quality if required
• Read and understand construction drawings/specs accurately to determine their impact on the scope, budget, and schedule of the project
• Develop project plans that meet contractual requirements and establish project objectives addressing the scope, budget, schedule, and performance requirements
• Conduct routine inspection/ walk-down activities to remedy any issues
• Responsible for reviewing estimates for potential jobs and preparing change orders and cost estimates
• Apply applicable laws, rules, ordinances, and regulations
• Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/ pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
• Ability to obtain a DOE facility clearance

Education and Experience

• Project management certification
• Associate degree in project management
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering
• State journeyman license may substitute for the degree
• Relevant work experience may substitute for the degree or certificate
• A minimum of one year in the trade a plus
• Must be a minimum of OSHA 10 certified or obtained within 60 days of the date of hire
• Mechanical trade background/ experience a plus
