Azimuth Corporation is seeking a talented Data Scientist to support a government customer in the Springfield, VA area. The ideal candidate will provide technical support and expertise to the office.

Some responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop advanced quantitative models and analytic methodologies to anticipate potential threats, improve targeting of geospatial data collection, and enable automated identification of emerging issues and events.
• Provide technical support in human geography, machine learning, statistical modeling, numerical optimization, photogrammetry, remote sensing, and image registration.
• Apply technical knowledge of how the imagery acquisition process currently functions, for national assets and commercial Contractors.
• Apply technical knowledge of state of the art and novel approaches in ML.
• Provide technical assessment of optimization algorithms to the Government.

Minimum Qualifications

• 13 years of experience and a MA/MS degree. OR a BA/BS degree and 15 years of experience within a discipline relevant to the work associated with the position.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience developing machine learning, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms to analyze and make sense of data sets.
• Experience testing and down-selecting algorithms for models fit and developing experiments to generate data when training/example data sets are unavailable.
• Ability to create reports and visualizations that summarize data sets and provide data driven insights to customers.
• Ability to work with SMEs to translate manual data analysis into automated analytics and with developers for proper algorithm implementation.

Physical Requirements / Travel

• Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer.
• May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events. Most or all travel would be CONUS.
