CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION

This position will focus on support of the Director of Special Education, Student Health Services, and IEP Teams. Overview of duties include general administrative, SPED data collection and reporting Department support through ETE, Team Calendar, staffing for absences and vacancies, SHC Shift scheduling, coordinating onboarding and offboarding of staff through employment and vendor actions.

Assistance with coordinating requests for travel, transportation, and professional learning, including out-of-state travel paperwork, and scheduling and support of meetings, including preparing materials and requesting interpreters.

  • IEP / MET file reviews and scheduling of IEP / MET meetings.
  • SPED data collection / analysis and report generation.
  • Coordination of CPI training dates and staff lists.
  • Coordination of agency-wide CPR instruction for required certifications.
  • Records maintenance and retention required for department.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :

  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 3 years of progressively responsible and or related specialized experience

related to the area of service to the Deaf and / or Blind, education and / or special

education are required; or, an equivalent combination or education and

experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as

listed.

Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite software and Google Workplace

products, document management software, and Agency database management

software.

  • Data collection and report generation
  • Facilitating trainings using the Adult Learning Theory, using the knowledge,

skills and attitude of learning styles, and methods of the training cycle, for

individuals or groups.

Experience with customer service or dealing directly with the public.

LICENSING / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Defensive Driver Training Program to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on State business
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of specialized experience related to the area of assignment are required or, an equivalent combination or education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to key 45 wpm on a routine basis.

KNOWLEDGE OF :

  • Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit ?
  • Principles and practices of administration and management ?
  • Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedure
  • Problem solving, planning, independent judgment and self management.
  • Strong relationship building techniques with verbal / written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of student information systems, its maintenance and audit practices.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personnel services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
