ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

Anticipated Opening for 2023-2024 School Year

Substitute School Bus Aides - Transportation

We now have openings for substitute school bus aides. The aide will ride the bus "as needed" from approximately 6 : 45 am - 9 : 15 a.

m. and 2 : 15 pm - 4 : 15 p.m. daily. They will turn in timesheets.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Assists and monitors all students at pickup, discharge, and transfer points, as they get on and off the bus.
  • Monitors behavior of the students and helps to see that they are adhering to bus rules and regulations.
  • Works with the bus driver to fill out transportation incident reports when corrective action is needed.
  • These forms are then turned over to the Transportation Supervisor, who in turn delivers the reports to the appropriate building principal.
  • In the event of an accident, assists the driver in the evacuation of students.
  • Assists the driver and students in the event of a medical emergency.
  • Performs such other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor / designee.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships
  • Interacts in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation

CONDUCT

Each staff member shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his / her employment in the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
