Position Overview:

Axonius Federal Systems (wholly-owned subsidiary to Axonius focused on the public sector) is seeking a strategic and process-minded Head of Finance to support our company’s rapid growth through fiscal and operational strategies. As the Head of Finance you will play a critical role in the financial management and planning of our organization. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team. This is a unique opportunity to be the first in this role, working collaboratively across departments to build out a rigorous Accounting & Finance function, streamline processes, enhance revenue realization and contribute to the overall growth and success of a start-up. You will be a key player in ensuring the scalability and health of our Accounting & Finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Supporting the budget preparation and oversight. You will also manage sales and margin budgets, overseeing reporting and forecasting across all revenue streams. Regularly collaborate with the GM and department heads, working together to monitor and adjust budgets as needed to protect cash flow.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making. Evaluate investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Deal Analysis: Provide guidance on deal implications, risks, and potential impacts. Work closely with sales leadership and other cross-functional teams to ensure deal desk strategies support company growth and are aligned to business goals and objectives.
• Financial Reporting: Produce accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and make necessary adjustments. Present financial results to the executive team and board of directors. Manage month end close and generate monthly financial statements.
• Cash Management: Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships. Optimize working capital and minimize financial costs. Perform Daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow projections and reconciliations.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements. Stay current with industry best practices and work with external auditors.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks. Implement effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
• Parent Company Partnership: You will also be a strong partner with functional leaders within our parent company (Axonius, Inc.), understanding business needs and objectives and ensuring the finance function enables both functional and overall organizational success.
• Team Leadership: Build out and grow an Accounting and Finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
• 10 year's experience in finance; several years in a finance leadership role
• Strong understanding of SaaS business models, contract structures, and pricing strategies
• Experience with government/ public sector organizations and deal structures
• Strong understanding of financial management, analysis, and reporting
• Excellent knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and taxation
• Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• High ethical standards and integrity

• Public Accounting experience
• Cybersecurity industry experience
• Prior experience building out an Accounting & Finance function from scratch
• Scaling a start-up company through an IPO
