Role Description The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the Enterprise Technology Portfolio. They are responsible for creating and managing to well-designed project plans, aligning with business expectations, tracking project financials, identifying project risks and issues, and engaging in project governance mechanisms we employ at AXIS. To be successful, the PM must have exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship building skills and be highly effective at leading and guiding the work of cross functional, global project delivery teams. In addition, the PM must possess the ability to develop productive working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders collaborating across the globe, manage the performance of vendor partners, serve as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders, and effectively monitor and control projects to ensure schedule, budget and scope targets are achieved. The role reports directly to the Head of Enterprise Technology Strategic Programs and is responsible for delivering projects within the portfolio under the direction of Enterprise Technology Portfolio Manager and Program Managers. B. Responsibilities Responsible for preparing the overall project plan, development and execution of deliverables, and budgeting/financial tracking Oversee all project delivery activities and serve as the main point of contact for project resources, stakeholders, and 3rd party vendors Document all project milestones within the project plan Monitor and report on project scope, schedule, and budget Coordinate internal resources and 3rd parties/vendors for project execution Identify and manage project dependencies Assess and manage risk for the project, develop and implement mitigation plans Responsible for the preparation and submission of regular project status reports Communicate to project sponsors, steering committees, team members and other key stakeholders; delivering audience appropriate messages C. Required Skills and Qualifications 6 or more years of relevant professional experience; financial services or insurance experience 4 or more years experience with project management Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills Possess strong project management (planning, organizing, monitoring, reporting) skills Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), especially with regard to planning and initiation, delivery, testing, & problem resolution Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently on a regular basis Understanding of project budgeting and financial management Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science Experience managing vendor resources/teams PMP, PgMP, Six Sigma certification (or similar relevant credential) a “plus” Strong skills related to communication, leadership, team building, influencing, decision making, negotiation, organization Ability to adapt quickly to challenges and devise solutions to problems
