Axios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a landscape and irrigation contractor in Grand Rapids, who is actively looking to hire a qualified Installation Manager. This individual will be responsible for the overall operation of the Installation Department to insure a timely, accurate completion of the work and making sure customer needs and expectations are met.
The Installation Manager will oversee and schedule the installation of all irrigation systems, in conjunction with overseeing the work of the Installation Foremen and their crews. Additionally responsible for hiring and training all installation employees and for maintenance of truck fleet and equipment used by the installation department.
Installation Manager Responsibilities:

• Reviews the new installation projects scheduled for the department; assigns foremen and crews accordingly to ensure the work is completed in a timely manner with a quality product.
• Monitors the work of each crew to make sure that the work is completed according to proper company routines and procedures.
• Hires new employees as needed for the installation department.
• Conducts weekly one on one meetings with each foreman to review performance and progress; addresses problems and concerns; reviews Customer Quality Audits; etc.
• Performs weekly check of all installation department trucks and trailers for cleanliness and proper inventory of tools and supplies with each foreman.
• Conducts one on one meetings with crew members as needed to address problems and concerns.
• Conducts yearly performance evaluations with each installation foreman and with each crew member with input from their foreman.
• Provides training and education programs for the installation department employees, including teaching the proper operation of all equipment and job safety.
• Provides field support/technical assistance for the problems that arise.
• Responsible for making sure all sub-contractors (plumbers, electricians, etc.) are contacted and available when needed.
• Reviews CQA’s for each job and addresses problems or concerns with foreman. Also addresses any other issues that a dissatisfied customer may have via phone or personal contact if necessary.
• Has weekly meeting with company president to discuss new installations; review progress on current installations; and discuss any problems or concerns.
• Oversees the maintenance and repair work on equipment, trucks, trailers, tools, etc., in the off-season to make sure they are in good and safe operating condition.

Installation Manager Qualifications:
To be considered for the Installation Manager position, applicants should:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• High school graduate or equivalent with at least two years progressive experience in irrigation.
• Requires knowledge of irrigation routines and procedures as well as operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Computer literacy.
• Must be organized and have the ability to schedule the work of the installation foremen and their crews to complete the workload and prepare reports.
• Basic math skills required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

• Must be able to communicate effectively daily with customers, vendors, peers and subordinates.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Daily exposure to weather, dirt, grease, noise, odors/fumes, equipment operation.
• Requires repetitive bending and lifting (some heavy) daily.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

• Oversees and schedules the work of the installation foremen and their crews.
