A growing, heavy fabrication shop in Saginaw is looking to add a skilled Senior Fabricator with Aerospace and Defense experience to its team. The position is full-time, with over-time potential as the workload demands. Second and third shift positions will come with a shift premium. Pay is competitive and based on experience and capabilities.
Responsibilities/daily tasks
- Read technical drawings to prepare for and plan welds
- Construct base templates
- Put materials together within tolerances and tack weld
- Inspect and test weld results
- Operate a forklift and overhead crane
- Document welds for projects as necessary
- Maintain safe work environment by following safety processes and procedures
- Inspect and ensure equipment functionality and safety before use
- Record production in ERP
- Aerospace and Defense background
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Pass AWS tests performed by employer
- Must be able to effectively read blueprints/drawings
- MIG
- TIG
- Sub Arc
- Aluminum and specialty metals experience
