Axient LLC is currently looking to hire an experienced Senior Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) Software Developer/Administrator for the Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS), Integrated Fires Rapid Capabilities Office (IF/RCO), Program Directorate Counter -Unmanned Aircraft Systems (PD C-UAS) in Huntsville, AL.

Position is located in Huntsville, AL and work is performed ONSITE (in-person) five days a week, 8 hours per day, Monday thru Friday during regular business hours (OT as applicable, if needed, but must be pre-approved). DoD Security Clearance is required; US Citizenship is required for DoD clearance eligibility. Selected candidate MUST be able to demonstrate relevant experience in Model Based System Engineering.

The Senior Power BI Administrator & Developer will provide direct support to the PD C-UAS Product Director and support initial and ongoing development/administration of a Microsoft Power BI capability. The Director has determined a compelling need to implement Power Bi in support of its knowledge and data management needs as there is a broad array of short-notice data, reporting, publishing, coordination, and real-world sustainment request for information. The candidate’s deep understanding of Power BI will enable them to innovate and develop solutions within the software with speed and accuracy, ensuring the deployment pipeline tool is leveraged 100% of the time before providing to users. The need for automated reporting is high, but never static, so the individual must be the right combination of creative and adaptable with strong expectation management skills. End users range in technical and professional capabilities, and so candidate must have patience and the ability to turn abstract needs into tangible solutions. The applicant shall ensure the General User Interface must be intuitive for user at every level. Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist business users with functional and data requirements to enhance data models
• Assist All PEO Aviation HQ Assistant Program Executive Officers (APEOs) and Program Management Offices (PMOs) with assigned and requested business analysis, performance management, and continuous improvement projects.
• Build Data Analytics enterprise models using Microsoft’s Power BI
• Create and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and deliver actionable insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Convert business requirements into user-friendly and storytelling reports and dashboards in Power BI.
• Coordinate with other IFRCO/PD C-UAS employees to improve data requirements collection, data integration, data analytics, and business intelligence techniques.
• Create and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
• Design, develop, and implement database structures and data models for efficient data storage and retrieval
• Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using various tools and technologies
• Develop, publish, and schedule reports and dashboards to meet business requirements
• Develop and maintain data visualizations, reports, and dashboards using analytics tools
• Develop tabular, multidimensional models compatible with warehouse standards
• Develop self-service models, and data analytics using Power BI service
• Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using various tools and technologies
• Direct, facilitate, and/or support all self-initiated and assigned continuous improvement initiatives for PD C-UAS that aim at increasing efficiency, streamlining and standardizing processes, reducing costs, and improving quality.
• Enhance, sustain, and train a business intelligence platform and visual measurement system in Microsoft Power BI and continue to develop and maintain data source lists and data entry mechanisms in Microsoft SharePoint.
• Lead technical discussions and participate in analysis with other Army data organizations/activities
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support leadership’s decision-making

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure platform and service (Power BI, Flow, Cortana, etc.)
• Experience working with data gateway, data integration, self-service data preparation
• Experience in requirement analysis, design, and prototyping
• Experience with ESRI or similar geographical mapping systems and tools
• Experience working with DoD contractors up to the Military/ SES level
• Experience with database design principles and best practices
• Experience with Power BI including data modeling, data transformations, DAX language, Power Query, data visualization, and solution architecture.
• Strong understanding of Data Analytics application security layer models
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights
• Strong experience in business intelligence development, including data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting/dashboarding
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Shell Scripting or VBA for automation tasks
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies for software development
• Understanding of RESTful APIs for data integration purposes

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the SECRET level to start work. Must be able to maintain the required clearance for duration of employment. MUST be a US citizen to meet eligibility requirements for DoD security clearance as applies to this position.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 10 years development experience in Data Analytic technologies
• Preexisting and immediately executable knowledge of:
  • Dynamics 365 CRM
  • Office 365
  • Microsoft Azure
  • SQL and RDBMS technologies
  • Web API
  • Azure DevOps (VSTS)
  • ETL, SSAS, and SSIS experience
  • SSRS Reporting knowledge
  • Power BI

Additional/Desired Qualifications:

• Active/transferrable/sustainable TS/SCI with current investigation at the required level.
• Master’s Degree and/or 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline.
• Experience with classified and SAP work.
• Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Program Management certification and/or PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Must have demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Provide documentation support as needed.
• SharePoint experience/proficiency to include the following:
  • Creating and managing sites and subsites
  • Creating and managing forms
  • Creating and managing workflows
  • Integrating SharePoint with other tools, such as Power BI
  • Granting, managing, and withdrawing permissions at a site, sub-site, and folder level
