THIS POSITION IS .5 FTE TEACHER/DEAN AND .5 FTE MASTER/TEACHER, BOTH DESCRIPTIONS ARE BELOW: TEACHER-DEAN: I. General Description: Collaborate with the principal to assist in creating a climate of high standards in the school for a safe and effective teaching/learning environment. Provide leadership in the development of student support and interventions. Must be a strong instructional leader and an effective communicator in promoting and supporting the school’s vision of educational excellence for all students.
II. Qualifications:
Valid Arizona Elementary or Secondary Teaching Certificate
Administrative Certificate – preferred
Five years successful classroom teaching experience
Master’s Degree and /or Administrative Certificate (preferred)
III. Performances and Responsibilities:
Maintains a high level of visibility with students and sta? throughout the school day.
Assists in handling day-to-day discipline, which involves meeting with students, teachers, and parents as required.
Participates in the school leadership team, and in that capacity supports the team in analyzing student data, developing a school academic plan, monitoring cluster group operations, and fostering inter-rater reliability.
In collaboration with the school leadership team, creates a school assessment plan that includes formalized benchmarking and fosters teachers’ use of ongoing formative assessments.
Supports the development of a professional learning community environment and approach focused on continuous improvement for all.
Provides a safe, productive and positive teaching/learning environment for students, sta?, parents, and community.
Maintains a high level of visibility with students and sta? throughout the school day.
Ensures overall student academic growth is taking place through assessment, evaluation, planning, and teaching.
Completes TAP Evaluations including: Pre-conference, Observation, Post-conference with Reinforcement/Re?nement Plan, follow-up and support.
Maintains a consistent and fair school discipline program, with a positive focus.
Deals e?ectively and professionally with controversial issues and critical situations in collaboration with Principal, Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent.
Supports the operation of an e?cient, well cared for school facility.
Develops in collaboration with the principal, a master schedule for the school’s programs assuring equitable and e?cient scheduling and placement of students, sta?, and facilities.
Assists in the development and identi?cation of a variety of meaningful ways in which parents and the community can be involved with the school.
Follows all District policies, procedures, and directives in a timely and appropriate manner.
Performs all other tasks as may be assigned.
TEACHER - MASTERTEACHER:
I. General Description:
Provide leadership in the ademic achievement and assessment plans
Provide leadership in analyzing student data to identify student learning goals
Monitor goal setting, activities, classroom follow-up and goal attainment for cluster groups and Individual Growth Plan (IGP)
Assess teacher evaluation results and maintain inter-rater reliability
II.Qualfications:
Valid Arizona Elementary, Special Education, or Secondary Teaching Certi?cate
Must meet all Arizona Department of Education certi?cation requirements.
Must meet valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card requirements
Five years successful classroom teaching experience
Proven track record in raising student achievement and/or demonstrated expertise in content, curriculum development, student learning, data analysis, mentoring and professional development
Instructional expertise demonstrated through model teaching, team teaching, or video presentations
Demonstrated excellent communication skills and an understanding of how to facilitate growth in adults
Recommendation form completed by current instructional administrator
III. Duties andResponsibilities:
Lead the design and delivery of research-based professional development for cluster groups
Present new learning in cluster meetings supported with ?eld-tested evidence of increased student achievement
Model new learning in cluster meetings and in classrooms, demonstrating how to e?ectively implement the skill developed in cluster
Provide access to materials and research-based instructional methods to cluster group members
Work closely with cluster team members to plan instruction and assessments
Guide and review cluster members’ growth plans
Provide speci?c evidence, feedback and suggestions during coaching, identifying areas of reinforcement and re?nement
Advance career and mentor teachers’ knowledge of state and district content standards and the TAP Rubric
Observe and guide mentor teachers’ professional relationships and responsibilities to career teachers
Guide, support and monitor the growth plans of career and mentor teachers
Identifyresources for career and mentor teachers that enhance instructional planning, aessment design, and classroom management
Develop programs that support positive behavior in the classroom and school setting
Provide ongoing follow-up and support (e.g. modeling, team teaching, observations w feedback) to career and mentor teachers
Work with other leadership team members in developing appropriate school and cluster plans to target student academic and teacher instructional needs
Lead and support the analysis of school and student achievement data to identify strengths and weaknesses and make suggestions for improvement
Communicate and re?ect the visions and decisions of the TAP Leadership Team
Assist the administrators in inducting teachers into the TAP school environment and processes
Participate fully in TAP professional development at the regional, district and school level as scheduled

Include activities on IGP to enhance content knowledge and pedagogical skills to increase pro?ciency
