Job Description:

Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is currently seeking a Security Specialist to join our team at Fort Carson, CO.

This position will work directly on site with the customer supporting the Space Force JTAGS Product Office team at Fort Carson. Individual will provide support to the government Security Manager and government Field Office Lead on status of security and all major issues that may arise. Individual will support coordination functions between the government Program Security Office and Fort Carson Security Agencies. Assists the Security Manager in administering the Information Security Program to ensure the safeguarding of national security information. Conducts regular security survey inspections to ascertain organizational adequacy and conformance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Analyzes survey results and recommends changes, new policies, and procedures for implementation. Advises on protective measures for proper marking of classified and sensitive information, handling, storage, transportation and shipping requirements, and destruction means, methods, and procedures. Conducts preliminary investigations of reportable violations or breaches of information security to determine sequence of events and possible degree of information compromise. Prepares reports of findings and presents course of action. Develops security education programs for the workforce. This includes annual mandated training requirements and special or supplemental training as needed. Prepares and issues security awareness alerts and disseminates periodic reminders regarding information security. Individual will perform a full range of security operations to include, but not limited to; security information, operations, technical, personnel, physical, communication, and information system security for Fort Carson and mission support operations associated with Army JTAGS test programs. Individual will apply security program philosophy, techniques and regulatory requirements to resolve routine to complex security policy and procedural problems. Individual will prepare and staff a variety of security-related documents to include standard operating procedures, restricted area requests, physical security plans, etc., all coordinated with the JTAGS Security Manager and JTAGS Field Office Lead. Individual is responsible for coordinating and conducting inspections, investigations, inquiries, and assistance visits to facilities and test areas to include secure mobile test assets. Position requires in-depth knowledge of access control and specifically the programing and execution of the Velocity Access Control program to include, setting door groups, assigning personnel to door groups and setting zones for control of personnel access.
Experience and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

Position will require 5 or more years of experience addressing security-oriented activities (physical, communications, and information) with DoD programs. Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of DoD and Army Security Regulations to include DoD Manual 5200.01 Volumes 1-4, AR 380-5, AR 380-40, and AR 190-13. Knowledge of DISS security information Database. Position requires 5 years of experience with Velocity Access Control Program. Must be able to access and use the DISS system to verify security clearance and Visit Access Report of personnel.

Other Qualifications:

Individual must be self-motivated and possess good communication and team working skills to coordinate multiple activities in a fast-paced environment. Work experience in security in a government environment is a plus.

Security Requirements:

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess / maintain a Defense Secret Security Clearance.
