Aviation & Missile Solutions is Hiring an AMD Foreign Military Sales System of Systems (SoS) Architect Near Huntsville, AL

Job Description:

Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is currently seeking an FMS System of Systems (SoS) Architect to join our Huntsville, AL. team.

The System of Systems (SoS) Architect will work as a member of the PEO-MS Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office System Engineering (SE) Directorate contractor team to provide system engineering and system architecture expertise and oversight for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) system development in support of Army Air and Missile Defense (AMD) missions. The IFMC PO is working with foreign militaries in developing FMS versions of tactical and non-tactical hardware and software systems. System architecting is required to ensure mission success. The position requires working with existing IFMC teams, as well as developing future FMS team capabilities. The candidate will provide senior-level guidance regarding architectures, hardware engineering, integrated system testing, and system requirements, with an emphasis on hardware in the loop (HWIL) testing. The position requires development of briefings and documentation such as test plans, test network architectures, analysis of alternatives, reports, and technical briefings for IFMC SE leadership and foreign partners. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and must be able to work across a diverse team of government personnel, prime contractors, sub-contractors, and foreign partners. Technical acumen in AMD systems and concepts is required.
Experience and Skills:

Basic Qualifications

The candidate must have 10 years direct experience with AMD systems, with specific system engineering or system architecting knowledge and experience with one (1) or more of the following systems: IBCS, PATRIOT, THAAD, C2BMC, FAAD, LTAMDS, Sentinel, AEGIS, CEC, or equivalent. The candidate must have demonstratable skills and experience in system hardware architectures, integration testing, interface development, requirements verification, HWIL test design, IP networking, or other system-of-systems hardware design. The candidate must be experienced analyzing and verifying requirements and be capable of translating requirements into testable event objectives. It is strongly recommended that the candidate have demonstratable software skills, such as use of spreadsheets, databases, scripting languages, or data parsing tools. Candidate must be proficient in Linux OS.

Other Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have direct experience with hardware in the loop lab environments. Candidate must be a good communicator, and should show enthusiasm, independent critical thinking, and good interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Host Nation/Foreign Technical and managerial staff and command-level officers is beneficial, but experience in FMS work is not a requirement. Candidate must have the ability to respond to quick turn requests. An extensive background in software development and system analysis may be substituted for limitations in above requirements.

Security Requirements

Candidate must have a current Secret security clearance and be able to maintain this clearance.

Other Requirements

Some travel will occasionally be required in support of on-site activities of live and HWIL testing. Current travel will be limited to the continental US, but foreign travel is a possibility.
