The Activities Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and management for the Activities operation including developing and leading a successful comprehensive program to meet the needs of residents and will oversee departmental activities.

Job Responsibilities, may include the following:

• Designs and develops recreation and leisure programs to meeting the needs of residents in oversee the entire activities
• Prepares monthly quality of care/service reports
• Assess and documents resident’s abilities and needs and records participation
• Prepares monthly quality of care/service reports
• Complies a monthly social program calendar to post and distributes to staff and residents
• Assists with the development and provision of training and orientation programs for staff and volunteers
• Assures that all activities conform to federal, state, and local accreditation and licensing agencies or organizations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, include but are not limited to the following:

• Minimum of 3 years Supervisor and/or Director experience
• Familiarity with basic medical terminology
• Demonstrated ability to participate in and conduct semi-active programs
• Enthusiasm to work with physically disabled and chronically ill individuals of all ages
• Ability to deal with residents, staff, and guests with tact and professionalism
• Able to identify unfavorable symptoms such as fatigue and irritability
• Willingness to work flexible hours

Education/Certification:

• Associates degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
