Job Summary
- The NASW Standards of Social Work Practice in Health Care Settings are exemplified within this Job Description.
- The social worker provides medical social casework to a wide array of patients, ranging from the newborn to the advanced geriatric patient.
- The main focus of the social worker is to assist in meeting the psychosocial/continuum of care needs of the patient and family to ensure optimum functioning.
- In addition to direct care services, the social worker will have duties of consultation, education, policy and program planning, continuous quality improvement, advocacy, and liaison with the community.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work required from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work education.
- Healthcare social work experience is preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Current license to practice in the State of South Dakota at the LSW level (or ability to obtain SD licensure).
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
- 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Every 5th holiday
- Every 5th weekend call time
- Every 5th call time
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $21.50 - $32.50 per hour
