Summary of Responsibilities

Support the organization’s strategic goals by implementing diversity and inclusion training initiatives, internally and externally.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

  • Collaborate with the vice president to design, develop, implement, facilitate, and evaluate training programs
  • Assess and review diversity and inclusion training and development needs across the organization
  • Consult with leaders and the HR team on best practices for initiatives, programs, policies, procedures, and practices
  • Maintain internal diversity and inclusion intranet page, which communicates programs and news for associates and people leaders
  • Lead change through learning activities and action plans in collaboration with manager and vice president
  • Collect, monitor and report training relative to diversity and inclusion. Use data to monitor progress.
  • Assess online platforms to create better learning experiences
  • Connect with industry organizations to stay current in the field of learning and development
  • Promote diversity and inclusion training initiatives for Avenue5 associates
  • Help create content for brochures, newsletters, and internal and external website content
  • Help produce quarterly/annual report relative to budgeting, and diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Configure and customize AvenueU platform according to Avenue5 specifications
  • Maintain all content housed on the Diversity and Inclusion AvenueU learning track
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in organizational development, behavioral sciences, human resources, business management, or education
  • Four plus years of relevant experience may substitute for education
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a diverse workplace

  • Help build and support Avenue 5’s culture
  • Strong networking skills. Can develop deep relationships within diverse communities and organizations
  • Remains calm under pressure
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Understands multiple facets of diversity and inclusion and how they affect business
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Works well independently or with a team. Can prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Completes and passes the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other assigned courses

Scheduling

  • Must maintain a regular schedule, which may require working outside business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
  • Ability to travel (10 to 20%)
