The Urban Freight Lab and Net Zero Logistics are jointly hosting an internship opportunity for 2-4 months between April and August, 2024. Start date is flexible between April and June. The intern will be located in at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA and jointly supervised by Net Zero and UFL. The intern will work on a problem identified by Net Zero Logistics and in support of their operations and be guided by the research expertise of the UFL. The chief goal of the intern is to help ensure that every link in the supply chain is as cost-effective, productive and efficient as possible. Pay rate is $20/hour. Compensation and contract will be directly with Net Zero Logistics Problem areas of interest: The student’s specific scope of work will be finalized based on interests, skills, and timeline but will be drawn from the following topic areas
Gathering and analyzing performance data from existing operations and recommendations for improvement
Provide analytical view of costs per business line
Develop metrics to measure Microhub performance by site
Keeping track on the product flow process from materials acquisition to final delivery
Updating databases with logistics data and measuring trends
Developing, evaluating and revising logistics policies, procedures and plans
Researching supply chain issues to identify potential problems and preemptively address the issue
Staying up to date on the latest innovations in logistics and what competitors are implementing
Develop and recommend process improvements through Logistics Metric Reporting Alignment:
Student will be co-supervised by Net Zero Logistics and UFL staff
Works closely with the Net Zero Customer Marketing Manager on customer projects
Enlists the support of finance, sales team, implementation resources, service resources, IT and other management resources as needed

Intern must have been be a student at the University of Washington during Spring Quarter 2024
Self-motivated and independent worker
Must be proficient in all facets of o Microsoft Suite in particular: Excel/Word/PowerPoint o Google Workspace
Experience with CRM software is a plus
