General Summary

Works in conjunction with Process Engineering and other Engineering Technicians to develop and maintain manufacturing techniques and processes. Recognizes and utilizes prescribed techniques to solve problems. Can recommend and execute enhancements to product and process flows.

Responsibilities

  • Support Process Engineers in establishing high-yielding, cost-effective processes based on product needs and customer requirements.
  • Set up and operate equipment, optimize recipes, and perform set-ups and changeovers with some assistance or instruction.
  • Assist and train operators on equipment and recipe-related issues with minimal outside assistance.
  • With some oversight, I will troubleshoot and resolve basic process-related issues.
  • With direction and assistance from Process Engineers, can execute the design of experiments (DOE) and gather data for analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, operating procedures, quality standards, processes, and task assignments.
  • With direction from Process Engineers, use principles of Cost of Goods Sold and execute process improvements to increase the cost-effectiveness of manufacturing and scrap reduction.
  • Ensure positive and cooperative communication with all levels of coworkers, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Serve as a member on cross-functional project teams.
  • Ensure Intellectual Property issues are being considered relative to processes being developed.
  • Maintains well-organized and audit-ready work areas.

Qualifications

  • An associate degree in engineering or a related technical field is required; an advanced degree is preferred. Plus, at least 3 years of relevant engineering or semiconductor assembly experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Familiarity with MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001, and EIA/JEDEC and standards.
  • Demonstrable electro-mechanical aptitude; proven ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor with some autonomy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Must be able to prioritize assigned projects with the process owner's direction effectively.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and diverse business environment.
  • Understand work environment issues (i.e. basic OSHA regulations, etc.).
