Summary

The Financial Systems Administrator supports APCO’s continued growth strategy by working with key stakeholders to not only support existing implementations but also analyze and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This position will be responsible for system configuration, upgrades, security administration, change management, monitoring, governance and integration of system components. The Financial System Administrator will also be responsible for working with internal and external customers to understand business needs, design, test and implement technical solutions that support needed integrations, reporting, and standardization of use across the organization. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administration and maintenance of our financial system, including system configuration, customization, and security settings (Current: Dynamics D365 Future: NetSuite)
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize system functionality and performance.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing and enforcing appropriate access controls, user permissions, and data management processes.
  • Customize and configure financial modules according to business requirements, including chart of accounts, financial reports, workflows, and dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain customizations as needed.
  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions within the financial systems.
  • Manage data migration processes between systems, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), to ensure seamless transfer of financial data.
  • Provide training and support to finance end-users on system functionality, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for user inquiries, issue resolution, and technical support related to financial systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, customizations, integrations, and processes.
  • Establish and enforce governance policies, standards, and procedures for financial system administration to ensure compliance, data integrity, and security.
  • Assess and document challenges with the existing implementation and propose solutions that align with industry best practices and maximize available system capabilities. 
  • Assist with other special projects as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in administering and customizing financial systems, with specific expertise in NetSuite and Dynamics 365.
  • Strong technical proficiency in both NetSuite and Dynamics 365 financial modules, including configuration, customization, and administration.
  • Experience with SuiteScript (for NetSuite) and Power Platform tools (for D365) for customization and development.
  • Proficiency in data integration techniques and tools, such as SuiteTalk, SuiteFlow, Azure Logic Apps, or custom APIs.
  • NetSuite and Dynamics 365 certifications preferred.

  • Ability to facilitate working sessions and perform independent research/testing to derive work steps and create detailed documentation, using both low-tech and high-tech approaches.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and embrace new information and learning as it surfaces.
