Staff Accountant

Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will provide entry-leveladministrative and financial support services. The position works closely with other accounting personnel, internal departments, and external parties.

The ideal candidate will have an accounting degree with some accounting experience. The qualified candidate will be familiar with Excel, and have ideally created or worked with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, and Slicers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process customer invoices daily
• Set up new customer accounts
• Manage EDI Portal (Orders/Invoices)
• Reconcile inventory accounts
• Assist with the development of Manufacturing Software (Vicinity)
• Accounts Receivable/Collections
• Process Accounts Payable invoices
• Process freight bills and continuation billing
• Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts as needed
• Assist with financial statement review
• Assist the Controller with the month-end closing process
• Act as backup to Accounting Clerk to keep the department running smoothly

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required (an Associate’s degree in Accounting may be considered with the right experience)
• 2 years of professional experience in accounting and finance
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains
• Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management and vendors
• Able to work as a team player
• Open to the development of skills and knowledge
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change
