Austin Zoo is currently looking for an individual with abundant energy to become a member of our Facilities team as a custodian.

The candidate must be an individual who is meticulous and focuses on attention to detail. Self-motivation and dependability are crucial. The ability to follow instruction is imperative while work independently.
Custodial responsibilities
– Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting restrooms throughout the day.
– Mowing, raking and weeding specific areas in the Zoo.
– Collecting trash throughout the Zoo and transporting to appropriate dumpsters.
– Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
– Must be able to lift 50 lbs. comfortably.
– Must be able to walk or stand for an extended period of time.
– Must be willing to work outside in any kind of weather.
– The responsibilitties of this position involve bending, crouching and kneeling. These are essential for a successful work experience.
Terms of Employment
– This is a full time position.
– Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
– Candidate must be able to work Wednesday – Sunday.
