The Occupational Therapist will treat injured disabled Mary Lee Foundation clients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. This position will help these clients develop, recover, improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. They are responsible for completing administrative tasks including documenting billing information and keeping accurate records of initial evaluations, diagnoses, treatment progress and any treatment plan notes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a full range of occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant following the standards outlined by licensing standards.
• The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats clients, under orders from a physician, through the use of a variety of therapeutic procedures designed to assist clients with overcoming activities of daily living concerns.
• Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.
• Assists the Treatment Supervisor in scheduling to obtain maximum benefits for each client.
• Adheres to and completes all necessary work pertaining to your department to fulfill the requirements of all policies, procedures, and standards of the Mary Lee Foundation, The Mary Lee Foundation Rehabilitation Center and applicable outside agencies including but not limited to CARF, DADS, HHS, TWC and other agencies.
• May be required to see patients at off-site locations

Qualifications:

• Licensure/Certification: Certified or Licensed by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• Education: Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program approved by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.

• Prefer two years’ experience working as an Occupational Therapist working with Ortho-neuro and Neuro-divergent clients (TBI, IDD, Autism, MR)
