Job Summary:

The Residential Services Director is responsible to oversee all operations, administrative functions, and to ensure efficient and effective operations of Sylvan Meadows Group Homes.

Direct Supervisor:

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with CEO to develop and maintain an annual budget.
  • Supervises all Direct Care Staff and ensures strong oversight of all programs and services.
  • Provides supervisory oversight and guidance to all employees, volunteers and contract staff.
  • Conducts team meetings with staff to discuss any issues weekly.
  • Acts as a liaison with regional and state representatives, service coordinators, case managers and other partner relationships.
  • Ensures and implements an ongoing Quality Improvement program. Conducts quarterly QI meetings and updates QI and Risk Management plans.
  • Ensures quarterly agency audits, evaluating service delivery records and environment reviews for quality improvement.
  • Addresses and documents complaints and ensures resolutions on all client, family and staff issues that may arise.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any service issues with clients, caregivers and takes any corrective action necessary to ensure clients' needs are met to their satisfaction.
  • Monitors Prior Authorizations (PA) on all waiver individuals to avoid a lapse in services and to ensure continuity of billable services.
  • Completes regulatory Corrective Action Plans as required and ensures timely response and correction of any audit findings.
  • Attends Support Plan meetings in the absence of the Case Manager and as needed.
  • Monitors staff work performance and ensures annual performance evaluations for supervisory positions.
  • Provides staff disciplinary action and counseling as needed.
  • Provides assistance with care responsibilities as needed and covers open shifts in staff absence.
  • Facilitates new client entry into services.
  • Performs home visits and provides follow-up as needed.
  • Ensures the development and update of policies and procedures.
  • Ensures annual review and update of website, brochure and business cards.
  • Reports any issues and/or liabilities regarding services, clients and/or staff of the CEO.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, accreditation and regulatory entities.
  • Ensures ongoing continuing education program and ensures annual staff training requirements are met.
  • Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures.

Essential Performance Requirements:

  • Must be able to drive to the following destinations: office and residential locations
  • Must be able to stand for 15-20 minutes, including during hiring processes, filing, mailing and/or faxing office documents.
  • Must be able to demonstrate direct care staff skills during hiring, staff training and physically covering staff responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associates degree in Nursing, education or a related field and six years experience in service delivery to persons with developmental disabilities, with at least two of these years serving in a supervisory capacity.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in human service field (such as social work, psychology, education, nursing, or closely related field)
  • PC proficiency is essential

Working Conditions:

  • The Director will work in an office environment with some direct service responsibilities as needed.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Travel to the office, residential sites and clients' homes are required.
  • May be requested by the CEO to attend state meetings, provider meetings and/or conferences and other duties as deemed necessary.
  • This position is salaried and on call position. Thus, this position is expected to respond to client, staff and program needs as required..

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
