Job Title: Specialist, Testing Center

Summary:
This position is responsible for performing all duties related to secondary and post- secondary
test administration and proctoring, including the management of the post-secondary Testing
Center, software installation and maintenance/operation of computers used for test
administration. Tests are administered to meet state requirements data collection, learning
support, and academic support, and testing for Career and Technical Education Industry Based
Certificates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Daily 5% Determine and perform appropriate protocol for all of the tests
administered and ensure the security, reliability, and validity of those tests.
Daily 10%
Supervise, coordinate, and manage schedules for testing. State and Federal
data reports must be generated and maintained regarding testing
information (results, numbers, and kinds of tests given, etc.) on a regular
basis and as requested for faculty, staff, and outside entities.
Daily 15%
Coordinate the day to day operation of the Testing Center to include test
scheduling, test administration, ensuring operation of computer lab by
troubleshooting computer hardware and software problems. Develops and
implements procedures to ensure compliance of testing policies, state
requirement, and maintains and collects data for data reports.
Daily 20% Ensure proper administration of all tests offered in the Testing Center.

Ensure collaboration with information technology to develop file layouts
and data exports required for electronic data compilation and to effectively
utilize information systems. Work with faculty to have the
information/materials to proctor exams in a timely manner. Work with
students who have need of special accommodations, including but not
limited to reading tests, scribing tests, or providing a special testing
climate.

Coordinate with staff regarding concerns about possible scheduling
conflicts, test availability, future needs, equipment, supplies, and potential
problems with administering tests requested by faculty and staff, and with
individuals and businesses requiring proctored services.

As appropriate, maintain active membership in all necessary associations
needed to proctor post-secondary tests; inventory and order exams on an
ongoing basis; return testing materials to the appropriate instructors and/or
agencies as required.

Maintain confidentiality and security of all testing materials, test logs, and
other test documents. Create a quiet environment for testing and
communicating the results of tests to students.
Wkly 15%
Generate test data for all tests. Plan, prepare, and conduct system level
testing. Analyze test results to detect technical or logical errors. Create test
data reports, by program, for school site, state, and federal agencies. Check
the student's information and code the records for school, state and
federal reports.
Daily 5% Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND
TRAINING:
High school diploma required. Ability to acquire proctoring status
with various CTE licensing agencies.
EXPERIENCE:
One year, and up to and including two years of experience in a
technical/community college, preferably in student
services/assessment position. Knowledge of CTE licensing
requirements and online assessment platforms. Experience with
Pearson Vue preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE,
EQUIPMENT & OTHER:
Excellent verbal, writing, problem solving and organizational
skills. Intermediate knowledge of word and spreadsheet
programs. Ability to work independently. Knowledge of
placement, assessment and standardized testing tools.
Knowledge of classroom software such as Schoology. Two (2)
years experience working with databases and at least one (1)
year of testing experiences (preferred). Considerable knowledge
of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher,
and Outlook) and various office machines such as scanner,
copier, and facsimile and learn and implement detailed
procedures. Strong organizational an customer service skills.
Bilingual in English-Spanish preferred.

REGISTRATIONS: No certifications required.
SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL
RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

OTHERS:
Medium exposure to self to bruises and cuts due to moving
computers and equipment and to repetitive motion activities due
to keyboarding.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;
reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is
frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The
employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must
frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
color vision and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
MENTAL FUNCTIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to analyze. The employee is frequently required to
communicate, coordinate, compute and evaluate. The employee
is occasionally required to compare, copy, instruct, synthesize,
use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
