Essential Job Functions

• Coordinate and manage the Accounting function for AURO Hotels’ properties and entities, as assigned, including the establishment and maintenance of general ledger and hotel-level accounting operations.
• Manage and schedule assigned staff. Develop goals and priorities, and assign tasks and projects. Interview and hire new associates. Develops staff skills and training plans. Counsel, train and coach assigned staff.
• Motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department.
• Provide leadership, direction and guidance in finance and accounting.
• Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of hotels and regions.
• Provide guidance to the Internal Auditor and provide recommendations for procedural improvements to audits.
• Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
• Develops, reviews and implements financial processes to meet organizational goals and objectives.
• Understand company financial statements, provide effective analysis of financial statement information and statistics, and intuitive insight towards improved financial performance of the organization and managed hotels.
• Coordinate the Reporting function, including the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of financial facts and figures.
• Update and implement monthly closing procedures for all companies, including reconciliation of all significant balance sheet accounts, printing all financial reports, and reviewing financial reports for omissions or errors.
• Coordinate the Planning function and assist Operations teams to develop business plans and budgets.
• Evaluates and resolves budget discrepancies. Maintains budget reports on financial and accounting database programs.
• To coordinate the Control function, including the development and testing of standards against which to measure actual performance and the provision of assistance to management through comparison of actual results to standards.
• Prepares financial reports and represents findings and recommendations to the CEO or other top management.
