Job Summary | This is a one year limited term position and is funded from external sources. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds. The Poultry Science Department is seeking candidates for a Research Assistant/Associate position to assist with ongoing research activities in poultry behavior and welfare. Job duties include laboratory management (ordering supplies, maintaining compliance), research project management (preparation, animal care, and sample collection, training and advising students, arranging schedules), data management (organization, statistical analysis, and report preparation), and media communications for the laboratory. Minimum Qualifications | Research Assistant: Level I: Bachelor's Degree in poultry science, animal science, or other related fields including ethology, veterinary science, neurobiology, agriculture or similar; no experience required. Level II: Bachelor's Degree in poultry science, animal science, or other related fields including ethology, veterinary science, neurobiology, agriculture or similar and 2 years of experience relevant to the position. Research Associate: Level I: Masters degree in poultry science, animal science, or other related fields including ethology, veterinary science, neurobiology, agriculture or similar; no experience required. *Indicated education is required; no substitutions allowed. Substitutions Allowed For Experience: When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience. |
