Attorneys Jo Ann Hoffman & Associates, P.A. represents injured clients in Personal Injury, Workers’ Compensation and Defense Base Act claims. Our firm is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to join us in our Fort Lauderdale office assisting domestic and international clients with their Defense Base Act cases, a form of federal Workers’ Compensation/Longshore. Requirements
- Minimum 2 years paralegal experience
- Preferred federal or state workers compensation experience, but will train right candidate.
- Able to handle a high-volume caseload.
- Strong administrative and computer skills (we use Aderant Total Office), including use of e-filing.
- Preferred Florida Registered Paralegal certificate
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Duties
- Serve as the right-hand and legal assistant to the attorney.
- Serving and filing of pleadings, motions, and other documents with the courts via e-filing.
- Documenting billable hours for casework.
- Schedule depositions, mediations, and phone conferences as needed.
- Strong technical skills completing forms online, scanning documents and other electronic communications.
